Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s leftwing party has won most seats in the weekend parliamentary election but was left without a majority in the house, forcing it to look for an ally to form the next government.

PRISTINA, Kosovo (AP) — Kosovo will hold a parliamentary election on Sunday considered a key test for Prime Minister Albin Kurti whose governing party achieved a landslide win four years ago.

Eligible voters, including those of the diaspora, were casting ballots to elect 120 lawmakers among 26 political groupings and one independent candidate in a vote held from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. This is the first time since independence in 2008 that Kosovo's parliament has completed a full four-year mandate.
