The Gophers football team didn’t go down without a fight, but first-half miscues proved the difference in a 27-24 loss to No. 12-ranked Michigan Saturday afternoon at The Big House in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Wolverines won the battle for the Little Brown Jug for the fifth consecutive matchup.

The Gophers had scored 14 straight points to cut Michigan’s lead to 27-24 on Saturday when Matt Kingsbury was called offsides on an onside kick attempt with 1:37 remaining in the game. Minnesota had recovered the kick and would have had possession at the Wolverines’ 39.
