The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom looks like a cute and cuddly game, but you're going to have to go down a dark path if you'd like to play it in the most optimal way possible.

As we noted in last week’s return installment of Best, Worst, Weirdest , Zelda broke with that basic tradition with 2013’s A Link Between Worlds, which dropped the whole idea of a steadily growing roster of tools,

Echoes of Wisdom is doing quite well following its release on the Switch.

The Hidden Ruins is a mini dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which you’ll need to beat as part of the “ Cotton Candy Hunt ” sidequest — a followup to “Let’s Play a Game” at the Eastern Temple. After losing their delicious spider web treat, the deku scrubs of the Faron Wetlands are looking for new sources of sugar.

Echoes Of Wisdom is great, but it doesn't answer all the questions it creates with its setting, timeline, and future.

If you get annoyed by enemies that are flying or too far for your usual echoes to reach, boomerang boarblins are the way to go. Even better, this one is the stronger version, which you can find in the western Gerudo Desert, so they’ll make quick work of any flying enemies giving you grief.

Echoes of Wisdom does not have a huge number of dungeons in it. They are more plentiful and traditional than other recent Zelda games, namely Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Players will need to do the usual from solving puzzles to finding a boss key for the final door.
