The lawyer for a man who has been reported to have appealed a settlement of the class action lawsuit of the East Palestine train derailment was non-committal on Tuesday as to whether his client will move forward with that appeal.

Settlement checks related to Norfolk Southern’s disastrous 2023 derailment could be delayed up to two years now because of the appeal, leaving some residents frustrated.
