Carter has been the one draft prospect most tied to Cleveland’s second overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft to be held April 24-26. There are other players that have been discussed and mocked for the Browns’ selection, but Carter is the one most chosen for the early pick.

NFL teams have been waiting to see one of this year's top prospects, Abdul Carter, work out and their waiting will continue a little longer. The edge rusher attended, but did not participate in Penn State's Pro Day on Friday.

Abdul Carter is projected to be one of the top picks in the NFL Draft, and the visits that have materialized at Penn State's Pro Day on Friday have indicated as such. Carter revealed during Penn State's Pro Day he has visits set up with the New York Giants and New England Patriots,

Former Penn State Nittany Lions star Abdul Carter stated his case for the No. 1 pick on Friday as he spoke to the media at his pro day.

Carter is rated as the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 NFL draft by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. He had an excellent 2024 season for Penn State, registering 68 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 12 sacks. He was named an All-American and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts.

Certainly not to NFL teams who are expected to make Carter, a Penn State all-American defensive end, a top-five pick in next month’s NFL draft. It went over less well with organizers of the Ephrata Lions Club, who hired Carter to sign autographs at their 45th annual annual card show.
