Bonaventure Cemetery is a must do while visiting Savannah! The grounds are beautiful - especially in March when the azaleas are in bloom - and the glimpse into the history of Savannah is fantastic (t…Full review by SJMC409

Worth every penny and Steven was a wonderful tour guide. A must do if you are a history buff. A more serious tour I wouldn’t recommend coming drunk.Full review by darciessmaker

I don't think our tour would've been half as amazing with any other tour guide. Dawn was extremely knowledgeable and her love of history shines thru. We learned so much more than we expected. Victori…Full review by KristyEngland

I will be visiting the week of Jan. 15 and don’t have exact schedule yet but was wondering if there are any private driving tours available for the cemetery . My mother will be with me and at 84 needs a wheelchair. I’m afraid the weather may be too much to have her out that long. I really, really, really don’t want to miss a tour of this place!

You are able to go into the cemetery without a tour however I can assure you taking a tour with Shannon Scott through Bonaventure is worth your visit. He knows everything you would ever want to know about this cemetery and Savannah in general. I can also tell you 2 hours goes so quickly you will wish you could stay longer. We have been there a couple of times and each time we have gone to a new section and have learned so many things about people, sculptures, stories, Mason's,etc... I would highly recommend this tour. We will be back.
Q:
I have two children - ages 5 and 8 -- is this tour appropriate for them? Is it an all walking tour?
A:
It is all walking. There are ants throughout the cemetery. Not fire ants but still bothersome at times. I think adults would get more enjoyment out of the tour since we already have some …

It is all walking. There are ants throughout the cemetery. Not fire ants but still bothersome at times. I think adults would get more enjoyment out of the tour since we already have some knowledge of the topics that he discusses.. There is nothing scary about the tour at all, just lots of history. 6 people from our family attended, all adults, and we really enjoyed it.
