The Spencer is right next to the student union where you can get coffee or browse shops or a simple meal. The Oread Hotel is about a block away and they have a Starbucks and several restaurants that can easily accommodate your group. We have family gatherings there on Thanksgiving. Check the Spencer schedule as I think they may be closing temporarily for renovations but I don't know when this may happen. The Natural History Museum is also nice, I hear, but I have not visited.
