That's a very good question! Christian holidays close up many businesses, and Easter Monday is a big one. I would definitely check ahead to see if specific places of interest are open, and if in doubt assume they are closed. My son was traveling in that region over the Easter weekend, including Monday, and he had a hard time finding anywhere open to buy food, let alone sightseeing destinations.

Area appeared to be very safe, had no problems. Although they say that Sunday shops are closed we found quite a few open in the afternoon. Most are going to church in the AM.
