If you have any interest in planes or outer space, this is a great museum to visit. There is so much to see: military planes and helicopters, spacecraft and satellites, even commercial planes. All … Full review by sallyjO336YK

After my 05.00 flight from DCA was inconveniently delayed I had the PA have me offloaded; while I relaxed in the Admirals club the PA negotiated my extirpation from the manifest. With not a lot else … Full review by tarquinm2021

We have 6 people in our group and are staying at the Hampton Inn, DC, White House. We don’t want to spend a lot of our time on transportation going and returning, so are thinking an Uber XL. Do you know approximate cost, time factor? Or could you suggest an alternate plan?
A:
Yeah, same as above. We were in the area for a week and rented a vehicle. Dropped by the museum on our way back to BWI.
Q:
We plan to visit prior to a flight is there a baggage storage area perhaps?
A:
Prior to the Covid pandemic, yes, there was a coat and baggage storage area. I do not know if it is still there. Three ideas: First, call the museum at 703 572 4118. Second, ask your …

Prior to the Covid pandemic, yes, there was a coat and baggage storage area. I do not know if it is still there. Three ideas: First, call the museum at 703 572 4118. Second, ask your airline how early you can check a bag. Finally, for me the museum experience is so good that I would rent a car for the day. You would also have to pay the $15 parking fee, but you would avoid the cost and hassle of a taxi/Uber/Lyft.
Q:
Does it cost money
A:
The museum is free but they charge $15 for parking
Q:
Time of year to visit to avoid large crowds?
A:
Take the tour and also see one of the IMAX movies. Enjoy
Q:
Is there a kids area or exhibit specialized towards children?

There are several activities available for younger children, sort of similar to 'Jr. Park Ranger' activities at National Parks, and hopefully the kids will be in AWE of the planes (if they are too young to appreciate the history behind the displays). There are at least 3 levels of walkways...so if they are afraid of heights, keep them on the bottom floor. There IS a McDonalds inside to eat, plenty of restrooms and a lot of parking (though for a fee...no fee to enter the museum). Gift shop is also available for any desired memorabilia. Enjoy (inside air conditioning...so outside weather won't matter).
