The hike up with a pack is a cardio work out but worth it. Great views at the top. Seeing down into the river is also pretty. We did it in the morning and more than half was in the shade.Full review by Coffeewow

The first 1/3 of the hike is very level as it passes through orchards in the Fruita area. Then the second 1/3 of the hike gains almost all the elevation (400 ft.) very quickly, with spectacular views…Full review by Jeremiah Z
