If you’ve any interest in industrial history, you should visit this place. Fascinating, and well worth a couple of hours. The sheer engineering skill and human effort in digging 500m down, and 2km o…Full review by Ann023

Such an interesting place to visit. You can either take the tour of the underground mine or perhaps, browse the beautiful landscape. It costs £20 entrance fee. There is a cafe with a beautiful seav…Full review by spidwid13

This place is a hidden gem. There is probably more to do here than you will think and it’s at least a half day visit. The entrance price is also very good value as you can return for free within 12 m…Full review by Steve_Lincs1
Is it worth paying for this if we are National Trust members and so could go to Levant or East Pool for free? We have primary school-aged children. Thanks
I would like to take my husband to a tin mine as part of our 10th wedding anniversary as it’s symbolised by tin.... however we also have a 6yr daughter to consider in our visit. Which would be the most interesting and offer the most for us all also considering safety as most important - Geevor tin mines, Poldark Tin Mine or Levant Tin Mine and beam engine... is it right they do gechaching? We are national trust members so would probably do Levant anyway but any advice greatly appreciated on other two. Both seem good s would love to go underground but don’t want anything steep or precarious for my little girl. Thanks in advance for any advise.

Can't speak for Poldark. But the mine you go into at Geevor is great for little ones. No steep stairs, all on one level. It's more awkward for adults due to its height. Safety hats are provided and you will bump your head I am guessing your husband is about the same age as me so will be familiar with the industrial issues of the 80s. I think Geevor would certainly suit and Lavant is pretty much the same site so you could do both at the same time.
Would anyone recommend this over Levant mine and beam engine?
A:
If you only have time for one I would recommend Geevor but they are so close to each other, only around a ten minute walk along the coast, it is easy to do both in one visit.
