If you start the ride in Glen Harbor, stop to view (or take a cool dip in) Lake Michigan in Glen Haven, and turn around at the Dune Climb, the roundtrip would be 7.4 miles, with only gradual changes in elevation, predominantly downhill on the return.

You can't drive on these dunes at the National Park, but if you head south, down to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, you can. If you google Silver Lakes Sand Dunes, you'll find several places that rent vehicles. Or you can take a group ride. Not sure the costs though.
