Hi. It’s a difficult question to be honest. I certainly would not take your dog in the Summer months. I think that you can walk to the steps of the church via a harder route or an easier route. Might be worth walking the easier route with your dog. Have a look at all the photos posted and images to gauge whether your dog could climb the steps on its own or whether you would need to carry it. I hope this helps.
