Our favorite beach in Tasman Bay so we go often. The kids enjoy the river as you enter Kaiteriteri. It's safer for kids. In lower tides you can walk around to Little Kaiteriteri. There is also a … Full review by Z8522ZYjillk

Worth a wander along this busy busy beach. The sand looks good to walk on, but, we managed to keep sinking in!! Lots of water activities to keep you busy and interested. Full review by Brian D

A beautiful golden beach with native bush surrounds and a view to Nelson in the distance. Water temperature was ok. A beautiful spot for safe swimming and lots of water fun. Full review by Caroline R
hi, im looking for a way to get from nelson city centre to Kaiteriteri. there seems to be only one bus a day leaving at 7.45am but we arrive in the afternoon at 3.15pm, is a taxi the only option? And if it is, how much would it cost appox.?

Hi a taxi would be too expensive. Best to hire a car that way you can also travel around that region etc. I hope that helps.
How do we get from Nelson airport to Kaiteriteri on 2nd January in the morning please. Is there a shuttle, or do we need to hire a car. How far is it and how long will it take?

Kaiteriteri Beach is located on a peninsula near Abel Tasman National Park. You could classify it as remote. Your best bet is to rent a car; we used Omega last year and they worked out great. While in the Abel Tasman area you'd need a car anyhow. The drive between Nelson and Kaiteriteri is slow. I'd say 2 hours for no nail biting deadlines. Be sure to visit some of the cellar doors at the wineries--wonder lunches and great experience.
