Hi, there is snow down to The Chateau only in winter months ie; August to November unless there have been heavy falls. Hire of ski equipment is available either on the mountain or from Turangi (closest own) or Taupo. Depending on where your accommodation is, you will certainly be able to hire skiing equipment.
