A beautiful lake with a pretty waterfall to go and view. Lovely grassy area with a jetty to jump off and swim. Water is really cold though, haha.Full review by Global65134241674

Lake Kaniere is about 30 to 45 mins from Hokitika on narrow country roads - I would recommend you also visit the Hokitika Gorge Walk which is spectacular and fairly close nearby - get a good map and you will find you can do a round trip and not have to return to the junction at Kaniere and back track - we had a Camper van - there may be tours available or car hire is available in the town - unless you are very fit i would not try to bike it!

Sorry, just seen your question! Yes, I think you can take your dog, there's a street by, but it's not really busy, just be careful because they drive really fast!

Sorry, I don't know. We stopped their for our own picnic lunch when we were on the cycle trail from Cowboys Paradise
