Which hotel is the safest 2 young kids and grandparents on a vacation want good memories not scary ones? Our trip to the Redwoods will be based from Eureka. Just 2 nights. Which Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion is in best location has safe parking ect. If now Eureka is getting worse for the homeless so which Hotel is best. If I had to I could also do A Beat western but really hoping for one of the others.

Sadly, no. You have to travel just a bit north to Arcata and go to up just past the Arcata Square. There is a store named, "Bubbles," at 1031 H St, Arcata, CA 95521. Eureka used to have its own "Bubbles" but it closed.

I wouldn't go anywhere near town without a car , and I would not suggest getting out of the car . Our experience is that its probably a dangerous place to be anytime , there were junkies everywhere,some openly smoking crack . We've travelled extensively in the US over many years and we have not felt as threatened as we did in this town. My suggestion keep driving , its a nice town , but there are nicer , and this one isn't that good that its worth putting yourself in harms way. Enjoy your holiday !
