WEBSep 3, 2024 · Eh, I don't think they can pull off another gen of 0 price to performance increase. Why would anyone buy a 5080 when you'll likely be able to still buy a 4090 with more vram and basically the same performance for less. We'd be looking at only the 60 series and below being under $1000, which I doubt they can do if the 8800XT really matches the 4080.

WEBSep 3, 2024 · Back to the other point at the start of my post - VRAM. An 8GB 3070 Ti in 2021 (with 16GB versions criminalized by Nvidia), was dirty anti-consumerism designed for forced obsolescence. We got 8GB 4060 (16GB again criminalized) and 8GB 4060 Ti in 2023 (16GB permitted but launched late and with an unreasonable price premium).

WEBAug 19, 2024 · RTX 3070. Everything high, dynamic resolution DLSS. I updated DLSS to 3.7.20.0. I feel like the picture quality is now sharp enough. I also just realized it's the first time I went through non-combat scenarios at 60 FPS unlike the PS5 so I do get a boost in having a decentlly higher-spec GPU than PS5.

WEBSep 12, 2024 · Costco have an i7-12700K, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super, Gaming PC for £1099 There really isn't as much distance between these things. In a years time a PS5 Pro will still be £700 and there will be deals on laptop / desktop builds that are basically on price parity and probably more powerful.
