Anyone “upgraded” from 5900X to 5800X3D for gaming?
WEBOct 24, 2022 · Ryzen 7 5800X3D was also ahead by a few frames in 1% low FPS drops at 96 FPS. Contrastingly, the Ryzen 9 5900X dropped to a lower 1% FPS at 89 FPS. the 5800X3D advantage does erode at 1440p and disappear entirely at 4K where we're GPU-limited. There is a negligible difference moving from the 5900X to the 5800X3D.

WEBOct 10, 2020 · My guess is that certain games will favor the 5900X and others will favor the 5800X. Endgame said: Voted neither, as I’ll be going 5950x. It’s not that much more than a 5900 grand scheme, has higher clocks, and more cpu for things other than gaming without going full TR crazy.

WEBOct 24, 2022 · The 5800x3D feels smoother in games and the stuttering in high framerate MP games that I had with the 5900x is pretty much gone on the 5800x3D. Yeah. My 5900x was fine but the 5800x3d feels quite a bit better when gaming and exactly the same when doing my normal usage (web browsing, video watching, etc).

10900k/10850k vs 5900x: Future proof and 4K gaming
WEBFeb 18, 2004 · I just looked into this, and it seems a bit false (but not entirely wrong since pci-e 4 does exist and the 5900x does have 12 cores). You can replace the 10850k with 10900k and get the same results with 2-3 percent. In games the 5800x and 10900k are pretty much equal depending on which games/reviews you use.
